Machine Readable Passports (MRPs) are issued in conformity with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards. Ever since the installation of Machine Readable Passport (MRP) facility at the Consulate of Birmingham, issuance of manual passports has been phased out.
The MRP office operates on the principle of live data capturing so applicants' presence (with required documents) is compulsory to process the application.
Applicants' data entry, photo, signature and thumb impression capturing are done by the MRP staff using latest technology.
Applicants DO NOT need to bring any application forms or photographs to their appointment.
Applicants visiting the Birmingham Consulate for MRP services will need to book an appointment prior to coming in. Please click the following link to book an appointment for MRP application
