MRP Requirements

Basic Information For Getting Online Appointment & Processing Of Passport Application At Pakistan Consulate Birmingham

Machine Readable Passport (MRP) application processing requirements are different for adults and children. Please go through the relevant section carefully before visiting the Consulate for processing of your MRP application as all documents listed under each category are mandatory and our staff will not be able to process your application if the requirements are not fully met.

Processing/Renewal for ages under 18 / Minor

  1. Original Child Registration Certificate (CRC/Form"B") or FRC (Family Registration Certificate) or Smart Card with one photocopy.
  2. previous passport (for renewal).
  3. Original valid CNICs or Passports of both Parents along with photocopies.
  4. Original valid Visa/BRP of the minor applicant and parents along with photocopies.
  5. The Minor will be accompanied by either of his/her parent or legal guardian appointed by the court of law, along with the original valid CNIC/NICOP of the parent/guardian.
  6. In case parents are separated/divorced, bring custody papers granted by the Court of Law.
  7. In case the parents of the minor are divorced or separated and the application for a passport is submitted by either of the parents, in respect of the minor, explicit permission will be required for the issuance of a passport, in the shape of the other parent's physical presence, or through his/her written consent.
  8. In the case of a guardian, bring a guardianship certificate, issued by the court of law and the appointed Guardian will visit the Passport office personally with the minor, along with his/her original CNIC and its photocopy.
  9. Foreign Passport along with its photocopy, (for Dual Nationals only).
  10. In case either of the parent is deceased, his/her original Death Certificate along with a photocopy.
  11. In case of a Lost passport, bring a Lost passport Police report mentioning the previous passport number.

MRP Renewal for Adults (for ages 18 & above)

  1. Original Valid CNIC/NICOP with a photocopy.
  2. Previous Passport in original with its photocopy.
  3. Original valid visa/BRP along with a photocopy.
  4. NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the concerned department in case of government, semi-government or autonomous body employees.
  5. Foreign Passport along with its photocopy, (for Dual-Nationals only).
  6. In case of a Lost passport, bring a Lost passport Police report mentioning the previous passport number.
  7. Note: In case of any doubt about national status and antecedents' particulars, additional documents may be required.

First time MRP for Adults ( for ages from 18 - 60)

The case of First time MRP Processing in respect of an adult will be referred for National Status verification to the relevant security agency in Pakistan. For this, please Download Form to be duly filed in before its submission at the Consulate.

Following is the list of documents required along with the Form:

  1. Copy of Valid CNIC/NICOP.
  2. Copy of Foreign Passport.
  3. Copies of Valid CNICs/NICOPs of parents.
  4. Copy of Birth Certificate
  5. Copy of Family Registration Certificate
  6. Copy of Marriage Registration Certificate (in case of married applicants)
  7. Copies of CNICs of 02 Pakistani relatives and their contact numbers

You will be issued MRP after verification from the security agency in Pakistan if you are not in possession of any Pakistani Passport. You are exempted from verification, if you are in possession of old Pakistani Passport or under the age of 18 years or above 60 years of age in case of Dual Nationals.


Passport Modification / Changes of Particulars

Change of Particulars / Modification (Change of Name, father name, date of birth etc.)
  1. The applicant can apply for a passport to modify his/her name, father name, date of birth etc.
  2. For it, he has to get his CNIC/NICOP revise/modify first. After getting it, he may visit the passport office along with the required documents.
  3. In case of doubt about the age of any applicant, the issuing authority may call documentary evidence such as birth certificate issued by municipalities or other local bodies, or certificate of recognized Universities or Boards.

Note: However cases of change of name, father name and date of birth altogether will be forwarded by the Foreign Mission to Directorate General Immigration & Passports, Islamabad for approval.


Online Passport Applications

Those whose online Passport applications are rejected due to BIO metrics or any other reasons and want to get Passport from MRP Section at the Consulate should get an online appointment and are requested to please bring the online system letter for cancellation of your online application along with the fee utilization letter from online section. The application will be processed subject to depositing of any difference of fee.
