Sardar Adnan Rashid joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1996.

He has served in Pakistan Diplomatic Missions in The Hague, Rabat, Vienna, Melbourne and Birmingham. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad, his assignments included Deputy Director, Central Asia, Director, Office of the Foreign Minister and Director Afghanistan.

He briefly served as a Joint Secretary in the National Security Division in 2016.

In 2018, Mr Rashid was appointed as Pakistan’s first Consul General in Melbourne, Australia. Prior to his appointment in Melbourne, he served as Joint Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Since September 2021, Mr. Rashid is Consul General, Pakistan Consulate in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

Consul General Rashid has degrees in Electrical Engineering (Peshawar) and Business Administration (Singapore).

He is married with two children.
