Police Character Certificate Application Options

Option I – Punjab Police Global Portal

Applicants from Punjab can apply for a Police Character Certificate through the Punjab Police Global Portal. This facility is available at the Consulate of Pakistan in Birmingham.

Applicants must visit the Consulate with the required documents.

Important Information

Applicants from provinces other than Punjab may only use Option II or Option III, as stated in the original guidance.

Required Documents

  • Original valid CNIC/NICOP and Pakistani or foreign passport.

Option II – Authority Letter

  1. Prepare an Authority Letter authorising a relative in Pakistan to apply on your behalf. Download Authority Letter
  2. Have the Authority Letter attested by the Consulate.
  3. Bring your original valid Pakistani identity document (passport or CNIC) and photocopies, together with the Authority Letter.
  4. Send the attested Authority Letter to your relative or representative in Pakistan. Your representative will obtain the Police Character Certificate from the relevant police station.
  5. Ensure the Police Character Certificate is attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) before it is returned to the UK.
  6. Have the Police Character Certificate attested by the Consulate before presenting it to the relevant UK authorities.
